Why order take out when you can make this easy beef and broccoli stir fry recipe at home? All you need is one pan and less than 30 minutes to make an amazing dinner that will be enjoyed time and time again.15
Cut steak against grain into thin strips. Place steak in a bowl and add salt, pepper, and 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Toss until all pieces of meat are coated. Set this aside.
To another bowl add shoyu, sugar, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, oyster sauce, garlic and ginger. Mix until well combined and set this aside.
Set a large pot of water over high heat. In another bowl make an ice water bath. While the water comes to a boil begin cutting the broccoli.
Trim the broccoli into small florets. Discard the thick stems.
Once the water begins to boil, blanch the broccoli for just a minute or two to soften.
Remove the broccoli from the pot and add to the ice water bath. Once broccoli has cooled, drain, and set this aside.
To a large pan over medium-high heat add cooking oil of choice. Then add steak and stir fry until browned on all sides.
Once the steak has began to cook through add the onion. Cook until just translucent. Then add the shoyu mix to the pan and stir fry until the sauce begins to thicken and everything is well coated.
Lastly, add the broccoli to the pan and toss to coat. ENJOY.
