Poke Tacos

Get ready for a taste explosion with these spicy ‘ahi poke tacos! Tender pieces of sushi-grade tuna are marinated in a spicy blend of sauces and seasonings, then piled high on top of a crispy wonton taco shell. Topped creamy avocado, these tacos are bursting with bold flavors and textures.

Ingredients
  

For the spicy 'ahi poke

For the taco shells

For the avocado crema

  • 2 avocados pitted and diced
  • ¼ cup cilantro roughly chopped
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons lime juice about 2 fresh limes
  • 2 garlic cloves minced

Instructions
 

For the spicy 'ahi poke

  • To a small bowl add mayonnaise, sriracha, shoyu, and sesame oil. Mix until well combined and set aside.
  • Next slice the ‘ahi into small cubes about ¾ inch thick.
  • Place ahi cubes in a bowl and add the spicy mayo mixture along with the green onion. Gently toss to coat.
  • Store in the refrigerator.

For the taco shells

  • Heat a small pot of oil over medium high heat to 350F. While the oil is heating up start cutting the wonton wrappers.
  • Using a round cookie cutter, cut the wonton wrappers into a circle shape.
  • Place the wonton wrappers into the oil and fry for 30 seconds to a minute or until golden brown. 
  • Remove from the oil and place on a cooling rack set over a cookie sheet or on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

For the avocado crema

  • To a blender, add avocados, cilantro, sour cream, lime juice, and garlic. Blend until smooth and creamy.

To assemble

  • Use the wonton wrapper as a taco shell. Add ‘ahi and top with avocado crema. Optionally top with extra furikake and green onions. ENJOY!
