Marinara Sauce

Vibrant red, chunky, tomatoey goodness homemade and ready to smother your favorite pasta or pizza dishes. This marinara sauce is super simple and will outshine its store bought competitors.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic diced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions
 

  • Heat a skillet on medium high.
  • Add olive oil, onions, and garlic to pan and saute until about 5 minutes or until onions are translucent.
  • Pour in chicken broth, stir, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper stir and simmer for 10 minutes
  • Add oregano and basil, stir, and simmer another 10 minutes.

Serve warm over your favorite pasta/pizza dish.
You can run the sauce through a food processor or blender if you prefer a less chunky sauce.
