  • Kewpie mayonnaise – This is a Japanese mayonnaise. If you can’t find this any mayonnaise will work.

How to make spicy tuna sushi?

  1. For the spicy tuna mixture: To a small bowl add mayonnaise, sriracha, shoyu, and sesame oil. Mix until well combined and set aside.
  2. Next slice the ‘ahi into small cubes about 3/4 inch thick.
  3. Place ‘ahi cubes in a bowl and add the spicy mayo mixture along with the green onion. Gently toss to coat.
  4. For the sushi roll: Place nori sheet shiny side down and rough side up onto the bamboo mat. Spread handful of sushi rice over the nori leaving about ¼ inch along the long edge of the nori uncovered.
  5. Flip the sheet of nori over so the rice side is down on the covered bamboo mat and the uncovered edge is at the top furthest away from you.
  6. Add half of the ‘ahi tuna mixture lengthwise along the bottom of the nori.
  7. Take the bottom edge of the sushi mat with the nori closest to you and begin rolling using the bamboo mat to roll tightly. Squeeze the bamboo mat as you go to help the roll together. Continue to roll and squeeze until you have reached the end.
  8. Dip your finger in water and dab the edge of the nori to act as a sealant to close the sushi roll.
  9. Top with Maika’i Organic Nori Furikake. Slice into 8 pieces using a sharp knife and ENJOY!
  10. Optionally top with sesame seeds and dip in a side of soy sauce
