This easy red velvet cheesecake brownie recipe makes the most moist and decadent brownies around. Serve these at your next get together and be sure to wow the crowd.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what better time to make a dessert recipe? And what better dessert than red velvet? Better yet red velvet brownies.
Red velvet is a chocolate based recipe with red food coloring to enhance the deep, rich color. The term velvet was used to convey the soft velvety texture of the crumb. It has become a popular flavor for all types of desserts.

What do I need to make red velvet cheesecake brownie from scratch?
- Eggs
- Granulated sugar
- Unsalted butter
- Cocoa powder
- Vanilla extract
- Salt
- Red food coloring
- Vinegar
- Flour
- Cream cheese
Tips for the best red velvet cheesecake brownie:
- Use unsalted butter as salted butter vary from brand to brand on the amount of salt added in.
- Do not over mix brownies. This will cause tough brownies. And no one likes tough brownies right?
- Bake brownies until toothpick inserted comes out clean. That is a good test to see if the brownies are cooked all the way through.
Can I use a 9×13 pan?
You sure can, however I would suggest doubling the recipe and cooking for 40-45 minutes.
How to store red velvet cheesecake brownie?
These brownies taste best fresh. If you happen to have left overs you can store in an airtight container at room temperature for a day or two. You can also freeze these brownies for 2-3 months. When ready to eat, allow to defrost in the refrigerator until softened.
What goes well with these brownies?
My favorite is ala mode. A deliciously, cool scoop of vanilla ice cream really makes this an amazing recipe. A nice cold glass of milk also goes well. Of course eating it alone is also amazing!
How to make red velvet cheesecake brownie?
Pre heat oven to 350F.
Coat an 8×8 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl add eggs, butter, sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, salt, red food coloring, and vinegar. Using a hand mixer, stand mixer, or by hand mix ingredients until well combined. Pour brownie layer in to the prepared pan and spread evenly. Add dollops of the cheesecake mixture over the top of the brownie layer. Then take a knife or chopstick and run through both layers going up and down to pan to create swirls.
