Condensed milk becomes your base and it gets folded into light and airy whipped cream then frozen.
Simple way to make no churn ice cream and the possibilities are endless on your flavor combinations. Obviously today we’ll be making ube.
What is ube?
Ube (oo-bey) is a purple yam common in the Philippines. It has a sweet nutty flavor and has been taking the desert world by storm.
Ingredients for ube ice cream
- 1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk
- 1/3 cup ube jam
- 2 teaspoons ube extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
How to store ube ice cream?
Ube ice cream is best stored in an airtight freezer safe container in the freezer.
How long does ube ice cream last?
Ube ice cream will keep in the freezer for a month or two.
What goes well with this ice cream?
You can serve this ice cream in a cone (which happens to be my fave) or on its own. Coconut is a common mix in or topping used. And you can’t go wrong with some whipped cream and a drizzle of ube glaze.

During this lockdown, have been trying many types of desserts. This is a very nice recipe and especially no-churn ice cream is always welcome, less of hassle. Summer is always a welcome addition to my daughter 🙂

I love no churn ice cream and this Ube Ice cream look fabulous.
your link for ube jam goes to condensed milk, it’s the only thing I didn’t have when I made it – I used ube powder and ube extract, but I wanna try the jam!
My apologies. Link has been fixed. Thanks for letting me know. Have a great day.
My kids and I love ube Everything. I’ve made your Ube Mochi and Ube crinkle cookies. It was absolutely delicious. Thank you so much for sharing. Now it’s time to make Ube ice cream. Is there something else I can use besides heavy whipping cream? I’m a little lactose when it comes to milk.
Hi. I’m so glad yo hear you’ve been loving everything so far. The ube ice cream is a no churn recipe and the key to that is the heavy whipping cream. You may be able to replace that with a non-lactose alternative, but you may need an ice cream machine for that. If you try it, let me know. Have a great day.
Thank you for this recipe! Out of curiosity, how do I adapt it for a churned version?
You’re welcome. I have never tried it, but you can try using the same recipe in the ice cream maker and see how it goes.
