What exactly are calzones?

Calzones originated in Naples, Italy in the 18th century. The Italian word calzone translates to trouser, which was thought to describe the shape of the pizza once folded and stuffed. Fresh dough is shaped into a pocket which then filled with the stuffings of your choice. The sky’s the limit when deciding what type of fillings to use. Let your imagination run wild and never get bored with the endless options.
