If you haven’t made salmon in the air fryer, you are missing out. The air fryer creates hot air and and circulates it around the food crisping up food similar to what deep frying can do, but a more healthy option as it uses way less oil.

Don’t have an air fryer? Not to worry. You can also bake this recipe in the oven at 350F for 25-30 minutes or until the salmon is flaky.
What is furikake?
Furikake is a Japanese seasoning made of dried seaweed and sesame seeds. It has become a very popular condiment here in Hawai’i. It can be found in the Asian aisle at most grocery stores or on Amazon. It can be used to make Instant Pot hurricane popcorn, in spam musubi, or in edamame rice.
Can you air fry salmon?
You bet and I actually really like cooking it in the air fryer as it cuts down the cook time. Since the air fryer is much more compact than an oven it is able to heat up and cook the food in a quicker time.

How long do I cook salmon in the air fryer?
Depending on the thickness of the salmon, anywhere from 8-10 minutes. The thicker the cut, the longer the cook time.

It is important to know where you get your salmon from. You may not want to eat the skin of salmon that has lived in dirty waters as it can absorb toxins. Cooking salmon with the skin on can help the salmon from drying out. Choosing salmon from trusted sources is your best option.
How to make air fryer furikake salmon?
Preheat air fryer to 400F.
In a small bowl add mayonnaise and shoyu. Mix until well combined and set aside.
Pat dry salmon fillet. Add salt and pepper to both sides of the fillet. Place skin side down if you are opting to cook with the skin intact.
Add the mayonnaise shoyu mixture in an even layer on top of the salmon. Sprinkle furikake over the mayonnaise.
Spray air fryer basket with non stick cooking spray. Place the salmon fillet in skin side down. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until salmon is flaky and cooked through. Enjoy!

- 1 pound salmon fillet

Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 400F.
- In a small bowl add mayonnaise and shoyu. Mix until well combined and set aside.
- Pat dry salmon fillet. Add salt and pepper to both sides of the fillet. Place skin side down if you are opting to cook with the skin intact.
